Crucial, a sub-brand of semiconductor company Micron Technology, Inc., designs, manufactures, and markets high-performance solid-state drives (SSDs) for computing devices and enterprise applications.

When it comes to writing speeds, however, Crucial falls behind with the MX300 reaching speeds of only 352 MB/s compared to the Samsung 850 EVO’s speed of 520MB/s. So if you are looking for a drive that is good for both reading and writing data, the Samsung 850 EVO would be the better option.
However, it is worth noting that the MX300 does come with higher capacity options. The Samsung 850 EVO comes in at sizes of up to 2TB, while the Crucial MX300 is available in capacities of up to 3TB. This makes the Crucial MX300 a good option if you need more storage space than what is offered by the Samsung 850 EVO.
So which one should you buy?
Ultimately, it comes down to what you need the SSD for. If you are looking for a drive that is good for both reading and writing data, the Samsung 850 EVO would be the better option. However, if you need more storage space than what is offered by the Samsung 850 EVO, the Crucial MX300 would be the better choice.
How Long do Samsung and Crucial SSDs Last?
Now that we have looked at some of the speed differences between Crucial and Samsung SSDs, let’s take a look at how long they both last.
When it comes to lifespan, both brands offer similar warranties with the Crucial MX300 coming with a 3-year warranty while the Samsung 850 EVO comes with a 5-year warranty. So in terms of longevity, both brands are pretty similar.

Samsung claims that the 850 EVO is suitable for up to 30 drive writes per day (DWPD) compared with the Crucial MX300’s claim of up to 80 drive writes per day.

Samsung also claim that you can achieve up to 400TB worth of writes for the 850 EVO before it dies while the Crucial MX300 is only rated at 100TB.
If you are on a very low dollar budget go for crucial SSDs. On the other hand if you want to spend some extra money then go with Samsung SSDs because they are faster and much reliable then crucial SSDs.
